New Unique Game - Playable first levels

Posted by ScottProductions2002 - May 17th, 2011

I'm currently working on TAPE, one of those "indie platformers" with a concept I haven't seen done before. Tell me what you think, and feel free to drop any suggestions / bugs etc!

Absolutely love it. Maybe a tiny bit too much text or hard to read I dunno, might just be because I am horribly tired. Really cool game though!

Yeah, cut down on the tutorial text and/or make it bigger. I really like the concept and look forward to a full game.

Pretty neat, not exactly a completely new idea as I've seen games that do elements of this mechanic. However you've combined them into something pretty unique, so I'm looking forward to it.

Hmm, it bugged out on me. I tried to do the momentum switch thing by pressing space and missed, then died because I jumped into the pit where the double was. After I died I respawned on a ledge where it said, "Nice jump, but there's nothing up here." After that I couldn't spawn a double anymore and whenever I went into the pit again I died.

Crazy bug...

Anyway, interesting idea. Work on the hit testing though and controls, though, it seemed kinda smooshy and that always turns me off of platformers...

The graphics are something to be improved a lot. but i understand that this is just the beginning of this project.

The tutorial signs could be made short and sweet or even show a small Movie Clip of what it says instead of actual text.

Not bad otherwise.

If you die from touching your astral self, the position of the astral self doesn't reset back to the spawn location when you try to make a new one, meaning the distance to whatever goal you were trying to get to is typically too far. In one case, I got to a spot where this instantly shattered the tie upon spawning my astral self.

I stand corrected. The bug I mentioned does not occur every time. I will attempt to find out how you might recreate it.

i just stole it from you AND submitted to newgrounds, check it out!!!
