Assasin8 - First Person Sniper Test

Posted by ScottProductions2002 - September 26th, 2009

Hello NG, I just started work on a First Person Sniper game that has much more detail than anything like it. There will be eight missions in the game, and the following is an extremely early example of the first mission.

Objective: Kill whoever is inside the Hummer.
Controls :

Shoot - Mouse 1
Hold Breath - Shift
Zoom In - UP Arrow
Zoom Out - DOWN Arrow

There will be a voiceover explaining your mission etc.

This is still all very very basic but this is a good taste of what is to come. Give me any suggestions or improvements you would like to see on this early version of the first level so I can make the rest just as good.

If you're having trouble completing the 5 second long mission, try aiming ahead of the car. Bullets don't instantly get to the exact target, so you need to aim ahead a little bit.

Very nice! A few suggestions though.

The control could maybe be moved to WASD and then and use that shift for breath. Also have the dot in the crosshair be the mouse, so you know where the mouse is and you aren't going off screen. But, it was defintily fun, and a nice new twist on the growing repetition of sniper games.

I agree that something to let you know where the mouse is would be nice, but other than that it's definitely something i'm looking forward to.

Also, hey, Alacron. Please, either shut up or run off a cliff.

Wow, looks very promising. I'm really looking forward to this!

2 ideas :D make some "dirt" animation... when you shoot the ground..... it's nice to see realistic effects

and you should add a moving lens flare when you look into the sun :D that would look awessome :D

and nice idea with holding breath.. didn't saw that anywhere .. good job :D
